MINCE and POTATOES

Mince and Potatoes, Good basic family meal

Ingredients

  • 500g lean mince
  • 1 large onion
  • large carrot
  • 500g potatoes
  • assorted vegetables
  • 75ml gravy
 
 

Method

Peel and chop onion into small pieces, put in saucepan . Heat over a low heat unti mince has browned..

Add cleaned and chopped carrot and gravy. Simmer for aboout 25 minutes making sure that mince does not stick to pan and burn. Add more gravy if required..

Stir, add seasoning to taste and cook for a furher 5 minutes.

TO COOK POTATOES.. Peel, put in asaucepan, add boiling water to coner potatoes and cover pan. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Check potatoes feel soft when pierced with a knife.. Drain into a bowl and add a knob of butter. Mash potatoes until fluffy..

Serve mince and potatoes with some cooked vegetables such as peas, carrots, broccoli.
