Delicious Quiche dish, easy to cook. From Jennifer in Scotland

  • 150g shortcrust pastry or make per ingredients below
  • 150g Plain flour
  • Pinch salt
  • 75g marg/lard (made of ½ measurement of each)
  • Aprox 1 ½ tblsp cold water


  • 175g smoky bacon (chopped)
  • 110g grated cheese
  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 300ml single cream
  • 100ml milk (can use 400ml milk if not using cream)


To make pastry- place flour & salt in a bowl and rub in marg/lard. Add water to make a dough
Roll out and line a flan ring
Bake blind for 15 mins

Place half of cheese in base of pastry case
Cover with bacon or other filling (eg broccoli)
Combine eggs, milk and cream & beat together
Season filling and cover liquid over the bacon/cheese
Sprinkle over the remaining cheese
Bake for about 40 mins till set & golden brown.
