Tatties Scones are a traditional dish in Scotland, easy to make and delicious to eat. From Jennifer McGowan, Scotland

  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Margarine melted
  • One quarted of the weight of prepared potaoes
  • plain flour - as much as needed to make a dough
  • Pich of salt - if not used in mashed potatoes


Mash potatoes with flour, margarine, and salt until a stiff dough forms.
Divide dough into required number of scones
Dry fry for 2 to 3 minutes each side till browning.
Cool in clean dish clothes layered until cool. Enjoy or freeze till required.
