My name is Mary and I would like to tell you about Kate

When I returned to Edinburgh from London I joined St John´s Parish. It was while I was finding my way around the area that I found, to my delight, another Catholic Church near to my home � St Mary Magdalene´s and so I decided to come to Sunday mass here..

Every Sunday I was welcomed and soon I was invited to take part in a church cleaning day. I have met many lovely people here but the lady most memorable to me was Kate Neilson, who sadly died in 2018. Kate had such a wonderful, gentle manner and she encouraged me to have the confidence to become involved in all aspects of parish life. She was never pushy and always with a big smile.

The parsih depended a lot on Kate and I still miss her.

I like the building with its two chapels � one large for main services and one small chapel for weekdays and prayer meetings. I enjoy the vibrant Sunday Mass and we seem to be attracting more people.
I am willing to help in any way that I can provide a service but physically I am now unable to take part in some services.
